THE SIGNATURE TAN

Our Exclusive Formula

Created by tanning specialist Nadine Sereaton-St. Croix, founder of Sheer Beautique, the exclusive St. Croix Sunshine professional formula is the result of over 25 years of hands-on tanning expertise.

Developed to deliver beautifully natural, bespoke results across every skin tone, this signature formula is used in every tanning treatment at Sheer Beautique, combining expert artistry with a flawless, premium finish.

The Classic Tan – from £70 (30mins)

For the classic tan, we carefully select the most suitable shade to complement your skin tone and desired result. This 8-hour overnight development tan is designed to create a natural, even and long lasting finish.

Express Tan –  from £75 (30mins)

Perfect for when time is short, the express tan develops in as little as one hour, making it ideal for last-minute events or busy schedules. The guide colour can be washed off anywhere between 1 and 4 hours, giving you full control over your desired depth of colour. Together, we’ll decide on the best development time for you based on the result you’re after, a personalised approach that sets every Sheer Beautique treatment apart.

The Signature Contour Tan – From £100

Our most personalised treatment, the Signature Contour tan is custom-tailored to you. Tints are hand-blended to complement your natural undertones, while a contouring technique is used to enhance your natural shape and definition. A subtle pre step is also included beforehand, helping to prime and condition the skin for a smoother, longer-lasting finish.

TAN CARE GUIDE

PRE-TAN PREPARATION

Pre-tan preparation is key to a longer-lasting even fade.

  • Exfoliate gently, ideally with a scrub designed for pre-tan use, or a non-oily body scrub.
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all product, any residue left behind can cause patchy or uneven areas.
  • Avoid moisturiser and deodorant before you tan. If needed, apply sparingly to naturally dry areas only (elbows and knees), keeping product to a minimum so your tan develops evenly.
  • If you are having a professional tan your therapist will moisturise your hands, feet and other areas that need it before your treatment.

Tanning Maintenance

To help your tan fade evenly and last as long as possible, please follow this aftercare advice.

  • Avoid baths and long soaks in the shower, opt for a shorter, warm shower instead.
  • Pat your skin dry after showering, do not rub with a towel.
  • Moisturise twice a day where possible, using an oil-free product.
  • Try to avoid excessive sweating where possible.
  • Please note that chlorine, swimming, saunas and similar treatments may cause your tan to fade more quickly.

NADINE’S MAINTENANCE TIP

While many tanning guides advise against using soap, in my experience, using shower gel or shower cream (rather then water alone) especially on your first wash, helps remove the guide colour thoroughly.  Water alone can leave the guide colour clinging to the skin, causing dryness and patchiness, and increasing the risk of it transferring onto clothing. This is especially important for brides or anyone with an event to prepare for.

NADINE’S REMOVAL TIP

After soaking and exfoliating, if there’s still some stubborn tan left behind, resist the urge to keep scrubbing, over scrubbing with gloves, or exfoliating scrubbers can leave the skin red sore and irritated. Instead try rubbing the area with a damp towel, this gives you a better grip and helps lift the remaining colour more gently. Repeat the soak-and-rinse process if needed.
